November 2023 newsletter update

Location update

As announced last month, the PGFC board is in final negotiations to obtain the property at 1095 SE Bishop Blvd. in Pullman—previously Unify Family Dental and Fireside Grille—as the future home of the Pullman Good Food Co-op! There is great excitement about the location, which meets all 10 requirements of the PGFC Location Committee has used to assess more than 25 different sites across Pullman over the past few years.

Once the negotiations are complete and there is an agreement signed, the Capital fundraising begins, with a significant amount of $400,000 needed in the first 60 days to move forward with this location.

As a community, we can accomplish this ambitious goal with your help and generosity through the following strategies:

Donations:

You can visit the PGFC Donate page to find several different methods to donate to the PGFC, including tax-deductible options. If you have any questions or would like to make a large donation, please contact us at hello@pullmangoodfoodcoop.com

Owner-Members:

An important goal set, based on the store opening, is to have 1,500 PGFC owner-members by the time we open the store. (There are currently 775 PGFC founding owners.)

If you’re not yet a member, visit the Membership page to learn how you can join to help make PGFC a reality. If you’re already an owner-member, please encourage friends and family to become owners, or consider giving a membership as a holiday gift!

If you have any questions, please email us at membership@pullmangoodfoodcoop.com

Grants:

The PGFC Capital Campaign Committee is working to identify and apply for various local, state, and federal grants to help support opening the Co-op. If you’re interested in joining the committee and/or volunteering with grant-writing, please fill out the PGFC Volunteer form.

Capital Stock Offering and Member Loans:

Stay tuned for an announcement regarding this opportunity for owners to invest funds in PGFC while earning a fair return on their investment. Investing in PGFC may be the most socially responsible investment you can make, and you'll be able to walk in the door and see your money at work.

Annual Meeting

You won’t want to miss this year’s PGFC Annual meeting, with the PGFC Board of Directors hosting the Annual Meeting for owner-members and the rest of the Pullman community on November 15 from 5-7 p.m. Keep an eye out for a location (could be exciting!) and additional details coming soon!

Board of Directors Opportunities

Want to contribute to the PGFC as we enter this exciting time? You can make a difference and help get the store open by applying to fill one of two open positions on our Board of Directors! Qualifications are straightforward: Be a PGFC owner-member with an interest in the success and mission of the co-op—and be willing to use your experience, skills, and energy to do good work.

If you have any feedback or suggestions on how our community can achieve this goal, please contact us at hello@pullmangoodfoodcoop.com
